Job Description

About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Project Manager – Power to take command of utility-scale power projects from its Atlanta, Georgia office, with additional US office locations available. If you have spent your career delivering power and energy infrastructure and you are ready to own programs end to end instead of executing someone else’s plan, this is the role you have been waiting for. You will sit at the center of the energy transition, leading teams that keep the grid modern, resilient, and reliable, backed by a global engineering organization with the resources to match the ambition.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, holding each member accountable to clear responsibilities and hard milestones.
  • Own the full project life cycle, from initiation through closeout, on either one major power initiative or several smaller ones running concurrently.
  • Manage interrelated projects so the wider program stays tied directly to business strategy rather than drifting from it.
  • Drive scope, schedule, budget, and quality performance across every phase of delivery.
  • Set stakeholder expectations early, then manage them continuously while delegating deliverables across the team.
  • Build estimates and detailed execution plans covering all phases of each power project.
  • Chair project management meetings and direct day-to-day resources and activity.
  • Deliver progress reports, proposals, requirement documentation, and presentations to project teams, sponsors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, escalating to leadership with clarity and speed.
  • Monitor and control outcomes to resolve conflicts and protect critical path deliverables before they slip.
  • Connect technical, operational, and commercial requirements so project decisions hold up across all three.
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise project staff while supporting a diverse and inclusive team environment.
  • Benchmark against best practice inside and outside the organization and apply continuous improvement to results.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, or equivalent professional experience (preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience on utility-scale power projects.
  • Minimum of 10 years of project management experience within the power industry.
  • Minimum of 15 years of total relevant industry experience.
  • Working command of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Microsoft Project, and ProjectWise.
  • Strong leadership, diplomacy, and motivational skill, with the ability to lead up, across, and down multiple levels of an organization.
  • Proven creative and analytical problem solving in a fast-moving delivery environment.
  • Ability to build durable relationships with business leaders, establish credibility, and drive consensus toward objectives.
  • Self-motivated and decisive, comfortable adapting to change and competing demands.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Why Join Us

  • Compensation of $130,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and geographic location.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus company-paid life and short- and long-term disability benefits.
  • Employer-matched 401(k) with 100% vesting and an employee stock purchase plan.
  • Paid time off, leave of absence options, and flexible work arrangements.
  • Recognition and employee satisfaction programs, an employee assistance program, and voluntary benefits.
  • A clean power portfolio at global scale, working alongside consultants, designers, and engineers on infrastructure that outlasts the people who build it.

Utility-scale power project management careers like this do not sit open for long. If you are an experienced power industry Project Manager in Atlanta or anywhere across the Southeast, take the next step in your career today. Apply now — this opportunity won’t last long.
