Black Roots Training Academy is a Black-owned firearms education and safety organization based in Texas, focused on empowering individuals—particularly within the Black community—with responsible gun ownership knowledge. They offer NRA-certified firearms training, concealed handgun licensing, defensive shooting courses, and women-focused safety instruction. Committed to fostering a sense of self-reliance and community safety, Black Roots aims to destigmatize firearm education while emphasizing legal responsibility and cultural awareness. Through inclusive, approachable instruction, they equip clients with the skills and confidence to handle firearms safely and lawfully.



Services & Pricing

• License to Carry / Basic Pistol Combo: $120

• Basic Pistol Course (Without LTC): $70 (1.5-hour session)

• One-on-One Private Training: $100/hour

• Firearm Rental (9mm): $35 (rental includes range use and ammo

Location & Operations

• Main Range: Outdoor shooting range in Ferris, TX

• Course schedule:

  • LTC + Pistol Training: Saturdays, 9 AM–4 PM

  • Basic Pistol Course: Sundays, 11 AM–12:30 PM

  • One-on-One: Sundays at 1 PM and 2 PM time slots
