The Medicare Sales Field Agent serves as a trusted, local resource for individuals exploring Medicare health coverage. In this field-based role, the agent lives within and works throughout the assigned Northwest Arkansas territory, helping prospective members understand Medicare Advantage plans and related insurance options, including life, dental, vision, and prescription coverage. The agent delivers clear, respectful, and compliant education so individuals can make informed coverage decisions that reflect their health needs and personal circumstances.
The role centers on creating meaningful face-to-face relationships in the community. The agent meets with prospective members in their homes, at community events, retail or service settings, and through other approved local outreach opportunities. They build trust through dependable follow-up, thoughtful customer service, and a genuine understanding of the people and communities they serve. The agent is expected to grow the local market by generating their own sales opportunities, nurturing a pipeline of prospects, and meeting established performance objectives.
The Medicare Sales Field Agent works as part of a collaborative local team, typically under the direction of a Senior Manager and Regional Director. They participate in required training, use company tools to manage customer interactions and sales activity, maintain accurate documentation, and follow all applicable Medicare, insurance, privacy, and company compliance requirements. The position requires flexibility because meetings, appointments, and community events may take place in the evenings or on weekends. Attendance during the first five weeks of employment is mandatory for training.
Although the role is field-based, it may also include remote work responsibilities. The employee must maintain a dedicated, interruption-free workspace to protect member health information and must have reliable internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds. Occasional travel to Humana offices may be required for training or meetings.
