

Staff Developer
Arctic Wolf is seeking a Staff Developer – Backend in Bengaluru to take a leadership role in designing and building scalable, secure, and high‑performance backend services that power its cybersecurity solutions. As a Staff Developer, you will mentor junior developers, drive architectural decisions, and work closely with front‑end engineers, security teams, and DevOps to create robust and efficient systems underpinning Arctic Wolf’s mission to End Cyber Risk.
Key responsibilities include architecting, developing, and maintaining scalable, high‑performance backend services; designing and implementing RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, and microservices to support front‑end applications; and optimising system performance, security, and reliability for large‑scale cloud applications. You will collaborate with front‑end developers, security teams, and DevOps engineers to drive backend innovation; work with databases such as PostgreSQL to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval; implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices; and guide and mentor junior developers while continuously improving development processes and promoting backend best practices. You will also work with React/TypeScript to ensure seamless integration between front‑end and backend components.
The ideal candidate brings 9+ years of experience in backend development with exposure to full‑stack development; expertise in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java; strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture; and experience with databases like PostgreSQL. Proficiency in asynchronous programming, multithreading, and performance optimisation is required, along with familiarity with message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS, and a strong understanding of security best practices, authentication, and authorization mechanisms. You should have proficiency in AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and ECS, familiarity with AI‑native tools (such as LangChain and LangFuse) and experience across the AI‑driven development lifecycle (AI‑DLC), plus bonus experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS), cloud‑native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation), cybersecurity products (XDR, MDR, SOC), cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, MITRE), strong Git experience, and interest in security operations.
